Bought a manzanita (not sure how it's spelt & too tired to care) LOL

I bought Kiwi a nice manzanita perch, big, fat & strong. He loves to chew on it so I'm happy about that....

He's right into bathing now, I just run the water in the sink & he now just jumps in. LOL

He's wolf whistling & doing some whistle tunes of his own...I'm proud of him. He's really doing great.

I'm hoping to buy a new cage for my Green Cheeked Conure...I hope this guys shows up. ;) Other then that, I'm off to xmas shop. The birds all get a new toy & some treats.

Have a nice day!

Making noise

So my daughter tells me that Kiwi was very loud all day calling out while we were at work. They all know that we're not to answer his yells. We only go to him when he's quiet. We also really make a big deal of when he is quiet. I believe in positive training so....he's really really sweet though but he has to earn a few things like should time. :p He's an ear chewer. LOL

I will be adding more pictures today later one...stay tuned.

Went to visit cheese puff

I met a really sweet girl online, she happens to live in my city so yesterday we meet for lunch with her Senegal Cheesepuff....she's beautiful of course. I loved the travel carrier that she had Cheesepuff in & need to get one of those asap. lol So I'm on the lookout for one.

I hope to share a picture of us with cheesepuff at the mall. LOL Cheesepuff loved it & I can't wait to get Kiwi socializing like that!

Thanks for the great day Siana & Cheesepuff!!!

Sunday Sunday

Well my birdie is eating this awesome bean mix...lentils that I cook for all of my birds, so happy to see him eat so well. I have to watch how much of his pellets he's eating, I think he's slowed down on them a litte. ;-)

We had company yesterday, my brother-in-law came for a visit, I was so happy that Kiwi will go to anyone, we really don't want him to become a "one person bird". So far, he goes to everyone in the family & even company. YAY!

Well off I go to feed & clean my birds.

Today I am meeting with a friend who has a Senegal, we're meeting at the mall, yes with the bird. LOL

Later......

Doing much better

Kiwi is learning a few commands. I'm big on teaching a bird commands so they understand what you want from them etc. We're using "off", "step up", & "leave" right now..oh & "gentle", "no bite".

He loves my rings so we're really having to teach him to "leave" them alone. He's learning & is very smart. He got my ring the other day & would NOT let go, OUCH that really truly hurt!

I love him!

Got bit

Well today is a sad morning, Kiwi is biting harder & harder. I know, I know...baby birds do that but from a Senegal, this bite really hurts, makes my heart break. I sure hope I can get him out of this.....man am I feeling down right now.

I immediately put him back in his cage.

Me and the babies

Before Kiwi came home to us, I was visiting him on Sundays. I would spend time with him as well as his two sibblings. I would look so forward to the weekend ending because I'd get to go spend the day with him. I don't usually look forward to the weekend ending but.....

Here is a picture of me, Kiwi & one of his siblings.

Begging

My little Kiwi has been begging here & there for food. lol It's cute but I feel so bad. I've offered him warm oatmeal, warn brown rice, all kinds of warn stuff & he doesn't like most of it. He loves his veggies, fruit & pellets but...oh & almonds are his favortie.

Kiwi had his very first bath. LOL It was so very funny. He didn't know what to do at first but once he realized the water was meant for his enjoyment, he induldged. :-)

I can't wait for my next Poi. LOL

Day two of Kiwi home

And what a big baby. LOL He wants nothing more then to be with someone. I can't say that I blame him but poop, we all work fulltime. :( I feel so bad. He wants to be out of his cage all the time but that's not possible. We also have a cat that needs a loving home but she's VERY interested in him!!

He's eating really well, everything from eggfood, pellets, papaya, sweet peas, or snow peas...you name it so that's really good.

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY!

Kiwi is coming home. Seems like yrs since I've first met him. Yes I said HIM, his DNA came back yesterday so now we know he's a male. Have to learn to call him a he & not a she. LOL

Need to grab a few more things for him but we're all set. I wish I would of been able to pick him up on Friday at the least to help settle him before I head back to work...oh well...he'll have me all day today. Not feeling so well so rest & play, we'll have some good cuddle time.

3 more days until Kiwi

Good morning fellow bloggers or watchers of my blog. :-)

We are now 3 more days until my baby Kiwi comes home. We can not wait, birds are like the human babies I can no longer have. They fullfill that mother instinct that kind of never goes away in me. ;)

Be prepared for tons of pictures as I share our life together with you all. <3

Stay tuned for pics of my other birds..and maybe even my human kids. LOL

I have to still shop for the little one, needs more toys for the big parrot cage.

Stay tuned to find out the DNA results of her test...should be in by Friday.
