Working with Cherry

One place where Cherry the Red Belly is comfortable is on my bed...way down at the end of it mind ya but that's as close as she wants to be to a human right now. Today I recieved an order for some more hemp boings & a hemp swing, two of which go to Cherry. I think she'll love it & she did get another big toy...merry xmas Cherry girl.

PS - all the birdies got toys for xmas.

Peanut

Today was clean & scrub the bird cages & shower the birds day. lol I took a few pictures of Peanut my lovebird. I had my nails done a few weeks back & he noticed right away that I had bright red nail polish on so he would NOT come to me. lol He's fully flighted so he can get away if he wants. My husband had to get him for me to put him back in his cage. lol So funny what scares them off but I very rarely wear it, and he knows it. lmao

My 18 yr old's drivers test

I have to admit, I'm a little nervous for him. Tonight I take him for his drivers test. It's one of those things that you know how to drive but can drive under pressure?? I can drive great & I know my son can drive great but put me in the seat with someone testing you & you forget it all. lol I hope my son doesn't get nervous & passes with flying colors. It's been a long time coming. He did take defensive driving so that's one check mark for him. I took the same program 26 or more yrs ago & I've never been in an accident and I also recall everything I learned. Here's wishing him the best! *Cheers* Love you son!!

Got a good bite

Well yesterday upon feeding my birds & letting them out of their cages for the free time. I got a good bite from Cherry. I feel so horrible that she's like this. This is not what I had in mind when wanting a female RB....she's supposed to be hand fed & socialized but you can tell she was not. No one can get her but me & I can only get her to sometimes step up & put her on her cage, she's still clipped from when the breeders sent he to me. So very sad, I feel let down, I also feel like she's been let down. She's just a bird that is happy at her cage with no human contact. :( SO heartbreaking. She doesn't even take food out of our hands, you have to stick it in a dish & walk away from her cage, then she will proceed to go eat it.

Blue Throated Conure - Pickles

My xmas present this year is a Blue Throated Conure. He/she just flew here by plane on Friday. What a sweetheart & a cuddle bug. Right now he/she is in quarantine in my bedroom with me so....so far he's quite, I'll say he for now. He's just beautiful & can't wait until he's full grown so he has full color. They're a more rare Conure & I am very blessed to have him. I sure am a Conure freak. The Poi & Conures are just my favorite. I've attached a couple of pics of him when he first arrived home.

Red Belly - Cherry

I haven't been on since my Meyers Parrot (Pumpkin) passed away. It's been a very heartbreaking journey to say the least. Seth (my 6yr old) asks weekly about him...and often says how much he misses him, which brings me to tears. He was so sweet & so stunning. I'm going to attach a few pics of him....

Back to Cherry my female Red Belly...She's been here about 4 months now or a bit more, she's very very shy. Will step up but then she wants me to put her some where. She won't cuddle or nothing. The breeder did tell me she was a little shy & that a cuddle while the football game was on would fix that....well that's not true. She's still just a shy as she was when she arrived at our house. It breaks my heart because she's just beautiful! She's talking a bit, she says "hi Kiwi"...lol Which is my Sennie. She does like her toys but wants to just be a bird....sigh.
